The inauguration of the Quantum Computing Lab will take place on Monday, March 2 at 11:00, at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Padova, with the special participation of Institutional representatives, experts of the field and the actor Andrea Pennacchi.
The new laboratory focuses on trapped-ion quantum computers, where electrically charged atoms (ions) are controlled with laser pulses to perform quantum computations. These systems exploit quantum effects such as superposition and entanglement to tackle complex problems beyond the reach of classical computers, with potential applications ranging from drug discovery to advanced scientific research.
The event is sold out but it will be streamed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/@UniPadovaAulaRostagni
