Quasar - QUAntum SAfe Randomness
QUASAR is a project hosted by the University of Padova and funded by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo
The main objectives of QUASAR are:
- The development of new theoretical and experimental methods for the realization of ultra-fast and secure Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs) which are based on quantum mechanical principles (the intrinsic randomness of quantum measurements is at the basis of QRNGs);
- Their implementation by photonic integrated systems towards miniaturization and market exploitation;
- the use of the generated numbers for scientific simulations and cryptographic applications.
